Blair endorsed by MoCo Sierra Club in county executive race
The Montgomery County group of the Sierra Club has announced it will back David Blair, a former health care executive, for the county executive seat this year over incumbent Marc Elrich and general council member Hans Riemer. The group said in a statement that it supports Blair on his vision for fighting climate change, smart growth and creating walkable communities in Montgomery County. (Bethesda Beat. Ward 2 council member broke campaign finance law in 2021
At a fundraiser in December 2021, council member Brooke Pinto raised approximately $21,000 to repay campaign loans. But new campaign finance reforms that came into effect in 2020 prohibit winning candidates from raising money to pay off their debts after six months of election. Pinto won in November 2020 and loaned his campaign $45,000. Pinto says it was an honest mistake. (Martin Austermuhle / DCist)
