Metro paratransit workers strike
On Monday, 200 MetroAccess workers went on strike, citing contractor WMATA Transdev’s bad faith negotiations and low wages. Authorized by their union two months ago, they will remain on strike until a contractual agreement is reached. (DCist / Jordan Pascale)
DC drivers speed through school zones

Metro is under investigation over how it handled last weekend’s train track fire
The Washington Metrorail Safety Commission, WMATA’s regulatory agency, is investigating whether a rail traffic controller told the operator of a Red Line train carrying passengers to check for the track fire from last weekend at Dupont Circle as he was performing. As of 2020, Metrorail train operators of passenger-carrying trains are prohibited from performing track inspections. (Job)
MoCo Ride On Bus Introduces New Fare
The Ride On bus in Montgomery County reinstated a $1 fare on Monday, after 28 months without a fare, and a pre-pandemic $2 fare. The fares were recommended in a Fare Equity Study conducted by the Montgomery County Department of Transportation. The bus will remain free for disabled residents, seniors and high school students.
