Bobbett competes on East Coast All-Star Team honoring 1992 Dream Team

Middlebury male basketball player Jaden Bobbet was selected to represent the United States in Barcelona, ​​Spain this summer. Bobbett was one of 14 student-athletes from all three divisions of the East Coast All-Star Team who played in several commemorative games honoring the 1992 Dream Team. The Men’s Olympic Basketball Team of the United States won gold at the 1992 Games in Barcelona, ​​along with NBA greats like Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird.

“It was an eye-opening and unforgettable experience,” Bobbett said. “I really enjoyed being able to travel and play basketball in a different country while representing the United States. It was an honor to be one of two Division III players selected and it was great to be a part of that. of the only team on the east coast of the United States to travel. to Spain and go 3-0. I was able to connect with people from across the country and around the world. I learned a lot playing with my teammates as well as with my coaches. I can’t wait to get back to work with my guys and bring back what I learned at Middlebury!”

Bobbett and the rest of the team spent two days at a training camp hosted by Columbia University, where Jake Brown ’17 is an assistant coach, before flying overseas for three competitions. The team went 3-0 against teams in Liga A, Spain’s top league. Bobbett was one of two student-athletes representing Division III.
